Student loan problem in the US sees hope with Obama

6 November, 2008 (18:28) | Student Loan Programs, Student Loan | By: outsourcing

With former senator Barack Obama now elected president of the United States hopes are now rising for the many changes in student loans that would be implemented to help parents and their students. This means the implementations of student loans as well as loan repayment schemes would be adjusted for the benefits of the students.

The changes in loan policies would be good news because Federal Loan reforms would be implemented as soon as efficient ways are also in place for proper implementation. The government would be reassessing how the student loans are provided to students. The federal student loan reform would surely help students who’ve been in this dilemma for many years already, yet they were not able to find solutions to the problems.

President-elect Barack Obama is even proposing to rewrite federal law on bankruptcy so that it would even be easier for senior citizens who are having financial problems, families of military personnel as well as individuals having medical emergencies. This means the government of Obama is willing to extend a hand for this problem to get solutions rather than making it big and giving problems to the affected students.

The student loans made a strong problem because also of the present economic crunch in America, wherein some lenders were also forced to closed shops and declare bankruptcy in the process.

I saw Pres. Obama supporters campaigning so intensely for him. They even reserved opportunities at Social Spark to write something about Obama. I was not only qualified for the opportunity maybe because I don’t live in America. But I’m sure that campaign alone in the worldwide web is also among the best campaigns to gather votes for the former senator.

With Obama’s new leadership the education sector would also have beneficial changes they’ve been waiting for many years. The career education of many students who were destructed with the student loan problems is now seeing light.

FAFSA application

2 September, 2008 (18:12) | Student Loan Programs, Federal Student Aid (FSA), Student Loan | By: outsourcing

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or simply FAFSA is a great help for many students in the United States because it has been helping students fulfill their dreams of becoming professionals in the future. Though there are also some problems the way how the student loan is granted by other colleges and universities. In the greater US territory thousands of students have seen the program as a real back up for their education campaign. In fact, this fall the rise of students enrolling FAFSA has skyrocketed to a whopping 1.3 million. The increase in the number of students is nearly 17 percent according to a government data. This means more and more students are now needing financial help to finish their education and FAFSA is always been a refuge of these students. There were nine million FAFSA applications received by the federal government for the last six months as compared to last year’s 7.7 million during the first six months.

Financial aid analysts said the increase in applications for FAFSA could be attributed to constant increases in tuition and other expenditures in college. It has been noted that there were more increases in college tuitions rather than the income of the parents. The parent’s regular salaries in government and private offices are not increasing. For this reason, more students have decided to apply for FAFSA student loans. Other reasons for the increase in student loan applications could also be attributed to economic crunch in the US which resulted to layoffs as well as the decline in the value of stock investments and homes.

In Tennessee, Danielle Wrasman, a nursing student, has decided to avail of students loans despite having her scholarship. This is due to the reasons she needed some funds to augment the rising cost of tuition. Wrasman is a beneficiary of Hope Scholarship but she still applied for the Federal’s financial aid to get extra cash. She admitted having a hard time looking for more funds until she met the Fed student aid program. Without much hesitation Danielle applied for the student loan program, saying she badly need to augment her studies with the student funds in order to continue doing her best in school. Just like the financial aid for military schools, the fed’s student loan program is a guaranteed program to be able to finish what they have started in college.
